TechLives - Responsibility

Surplus, not waste

Every year, huge quantities of brand-new, fully functional electronics are left over when a newer model takes their place on the shelf. We buy that unsold stock and get it to you still sealed, at a fraction of the price.

Selling on brand-new surplus stock is responsible consumption without compromise: nothing extra is manufactured, nothing functional is scrapped, and you pay outlet prices for a product that leaves us exactly as the factory sealed it. Here is how we try to do the right thing, in practice.

Stock that never reached a customer

Every product we sell is factory-new and still sealed - unsold stock and outgoing models that would otherwise sit in a warehouse until they were written off. Selling them on is the most responsible thing that can happen to them: no extra manufacturing, no waste, just a product doing the job it was built for.

Responsible WEEE recycling

When you replace an old TV or appliance, do not put it in general waste. Under the UK WEEE regulations, old electricals can be recycled free of charge at your local household recycling centre - and if you are unsure where, email us and we will point you to the nearest option.

Clear energy labels

We show the energy label on appliances such as fridge freezers, washer dryers and dishwashers, so you can choose a model that keeps running costs and emissions down for years - not just on the day you buy it.

Lower-impact packaging

Products ship in their original sealed manufacturer packaging - nothing is repacked unnecessarily - and we are working towards fully recyclable outer materials on all orders by 2027.
