The Q7 L5+ is the sensible middle of Roborock’s range: proper LiDAR mapping and 8,000 Pa of suction in a robot that thinks for itself, paired with a dock that empties the bin for you. It suits busy homes with pets, hard floors and a rug or two.

8,000 Pa HyperForce suction The fan lifts hair, grit and pet food out of floor crevices and up from the base of carpet pile. Auto Boost on Carpet raises the power the moment the robot rolls onto a rug, then eases off again on hard floors.

Dual Anti-Tangle System The JawScrapers comb main brush strips hair off itself as it turns, and the side brush sheds it rather than winding it on. Both are certified by TÜV Rheinland for anti-entanglement, which is the difference between a robot you empty and one you unpick.

RockDock Plus does the emptying After each clean the robot reverses into the dock and a 2.7 litre bag takes the load, which Roborock rates at up to seven weeks before you swap it. The bag has been SGS-tested for its filtration of mulberry pollen and cat, dog and dust mite allergens.

PreciSense LiDAR navigation A spinning laser scans a full 360 degrees and draws the map as the robot works, so it cleans in tidy parallel lines and finds its own way home. It stores up to three maps for multi-storey homes, suggests No-Go Zones, and rides over thresholds up to 2 cm.

Vacuums and mops in one pass The 200 ml dustbin and 280 ml water tank come out as a single combo unit, so it is one trip to the bin and one to the tap. Three adjustable water flow levels run from barely damp on sealed wood to properly wet on tile, and DEEP+ mode slows the robot down for dried-on marks.

150 minutes, then it sorts itself out The 3,200 mAh battery covers up to 170 square metres in a single run. Schedule it room by room in the Roborock app, use Child Lock to stop small hands starting a clean, and let it charge off-peak.
